App Store screenshot sizes
Every screenshot size Apple accepts for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch, and a free checker that tells you which display size each of your images fits.
The check reads each file in your browser. Storewake doesn’t upload or store your screenshots.
What Apple requires
- iPhone: at least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display).
- iPhone with Face ID (large display): required if your app runs on iPhone and screenshots for iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display) aren't provided.
- iPad, if your app supports iPadOS: at least one screenshot for the iPad 13" display.
- Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch apps: screenshots at one of their own sizes, listed below.
- At least one and up to 10 screenshots per device size, as .jpeg, .jpg or .png files.
- No alpha channels or transparencies.
- If your interface is the same across device sizes and localizations, you only need screenshots for the highest required resolution; App Store Connect scales them down for smaller devices.
From Apple’s screenshot specifications in App Store Connect Help, checked on . Reading each image’s size, format and alpha channel from the file is this checker’s own method, as are its notes on file names that don’t match their contents and on JPEGs turned by EXIF orientation.

Sizes are in pixels, width × height, as Apple lists them. Where Apple says which size is used when one is missing, the note says so.

Questions about App Store screenshots
Which App Store screenshot sizes are required?
Apple’s list of required sizes asks for at least one iPhone screenshot for the Dynamic Island medium display, such as 1206 × 2622 pixels in portrait. Its size table adds that an iPhone app needs Face ID large display screenshots, such as 1284 × 2778, unless it provides Dynamic Island large display ones, such as 1320 × 2868. If your app runs on iPad, it also needs at least one for the iPad 13-inch display, such as 2064 × 2752. Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch apps each need screenshots for their own platform.
Do I need screenshots for every iPhone size?
No. Apple says that if your app’s interface is the same across device sizes and localizations, you only need screenshots for the highest required resolution, and App Store Connect scales them down for smaller devices. You can still upload screenshots made for each size.
How many screenshots can I upload?
At least one and up to 10 per device size, as .jpeg, .jpg or .png files. You can upload screenshots tailored to each device size and localization.
Why does App Store Connect reject my PNG screenshot?
Apple says screenshots can’t include alpha channels or transparencies, so a PNG saved with an alpha channel can be rejected even when it looks opaque. Export it again without alpha, for example as a JPEG. The checker reads this from the PNG file itself.
Does Storewake see my screenshots?
No. The checker reads each file’s size and format in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Our analytics record only counts, such as how many files were checked.
